LINCOLN'S SPARROW was the highlight of reports received June 22 through June 28 from the Niagara Frontier Region.

June 25, a LINCOLN'S SPARROW was reported at the Swallow Hollow Trail on Knowlesville Road in the Iroquois Refuge. This appears to be the region's first June record of LINCOLN'S SPARROW away from the Wainfleet Bog in Ontario. Also, two AMERICAN WOODCOCKS at Swallow Hollow Trail.

There have been no reports of the three DICKCISSELS on Youngstown-Wilson Road in the the Town of Porter since June 22. However, they are likely still present, 3/4 mile east of Dickersonville Road.

Two reports from the southern Erie County Town of Holland this week. On private property in Holland, 10 warbler species included YELLOW WARBLER, CHESTNUT-S. WARBLER, MAGNOLIA WARBLER, BL.-THR. GREEN WARB., BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER, AMERICAN REDSTART, OVENBIRD, MOURNING WARBLER, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT and CANADA WARBLER, plus 2 RUFFED GROUSE, YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO, YELLOW-B. SAPSUCKER, ACADIAN FLYCATCHER, WINTER WREN and HERMIT THRUSH. In the Erie County Forest in Holland, scarce breeding NASHVILLE WARBLER, NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH and WHITE-THR. SPARROW, plus numerous BLUE-HEADED VIREO, WINTER WREN, BL.-THR. GREEN WARB. and HOODED WARBLER. Along Wagner Road in Holland, RED-SHOULDERED HAWK and RED-BR. NUTHATCH. In the adjacent Town of Sardinia, PRAIRIE WARBLER at Allen and Warner Gulf Roads.

At the Batavia Waste Water Plant on June 24, highlights included 4 RING-NECKED DUCKS and 12 RUDDY DUCKS, plus 54 D.- CREST. CORMORANTS, 17 GREAT BLUE HERONS, 14 WOOD DUCKS, BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 6 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, 8 HOODED MERGANSERS and COMMON MOORHEN with 5 chicks.

In the Iroquois Refuge, Tonawanda and Oak Orchard Areas, 10 adult WOOD DUCKS with 83 chicks, plus 7 GREAT EGRETS, several OSPREYS and BALD EAGLES, COMMON MOORHEN, 7 BLACK TERNS, 2 YELLOW-THR. VIREOS, VEERY and PURPLE FINCH. On Feeder Road off Route 77, both BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO and YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO.

YELLOW-THR. VIREOS were also reported at several locations in Chautauqua County this week. Other Chautauqua reports - on Bartlett Hill Road in the Town of Villanova, LA. WATERTHRUSH, MOURNING WARBLER, and CANADA WARBLER, plus ACADIAN FLYCATCHER, HERMIT THRUSH, SCARLET TANAGER, ROSE-BR. GROSBEAK and DARK-EYED JUNCO. At the Dunkirk Airport, EASTERN TOWHEE, FIELD SPARROW, 3 SAVANNAH SPARROWS and 12 EASTERN MEADOWLARKS. And, at Saint Columbans on Route 5 in Sheridan, CEDAR WAXWING, PINE WARBLER and 2 sub-adult BALD EAGLES.

And in Clarence this week, at the Tillman Wildlife Management Area, 4 GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS.
