The bird arrived at the High Falls Conservation Area at exactly 8:07 this
morning. It landed just below the dam (weir) on the north side of the
river. In the area between the dam and the broken down bridge it stalked and
caught fish (perch) in one area and then flew a short distance, landed and
resumed its feeding activity. It did this repeatedly until 9:10 a.m. at
which time it flew up and perched in a tall willow on the north side of the
river in line with the old bridge. When I left at 9:15 a.m. it was still at
the top of the willow. I took a few good pictures which I will post on my
blog later today (address below my signature).

DIRECTIONS to HIGH FALLS : From Hwy 417 take exit 66 towards Casselman.
Go about 2 km on Rue Principale St. to the South Nation River. The High
Falls Conservation Area is on your right. Start looking from the north side
of the river just above the weir, if not visible from there go to the south
side.
