So many exciting things to report in the HSA this week.  Migration of warblers 
and the beginning of Van Wagners Beach
season highlights the news this week.

Today at Van Wagners Beach the first PARASITIC JAEGERS were seen just after the 
noon hour and again tonight.  Also a
juvenile SABINE'S GULL was spotted today, an early record for this species.

At all the lakeshore haunts, many species of warblers have been passing 
through.  In particular this week, three reports
of CONNECTICUT WARBLER at Rattray Marsh, Shell Park & Shoreacres/Paletta Park.

Other reports from these areas include Osprey, Least Flycatcher, Red-eyed 
Vireo, Philadelphia Vireo, Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher, Veery, Chestnut-sided, Magnolia, Black-throated Blue, 
Yellow-rumped, Bay-breasted Warbler, American
Redstart, Ovenbird, Northern Waterthrush, Common Yellowthroat, Wilson's and 
Canada Warbler, Rose-breasted Grosbeak and
Northern Oriole.

Woodland Cemetery and the Valley Inn have also been good spots to visit this 
week with Solitary Sandpiper, Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher, Least and Great-crested Flycatcher, Chimney Swifts, Wilsons, 
Black-throated Green, Bay breasted, Canada,
Black-and-white Warbler, American Redstart and Ovenbird.

>From North Halton, reports of several species of flycatchers moving through, a 
>Northern Goshawk bombing around and a
Swainson's Thrush seen last Friday.

Many reports of Common Nighthawks migrating over Mississauga, Oakville, 
Hamilton, Burlington and Dundas this week.

Shorebirds are still lurking about.  A juvenile RED KNOT has been present at 
Grimsby Sewage Lagoons and last reported a
couple of days ago.  Also present there Green-winged Teal, Sora, Lesser 
Yellowlegs, Semipalmated and Least Sandpipers
and many Caspian Terns.

At the North Service Road and Guelph Line, Great Blue Heron, Lesser Yellowlegs, 
Semiplamated and Least Sandpipers seen
here last Wednesday.

In the odds & sods, an Olive-sided Flycatcher was present with many warbler 
species at Courtcliffe Park today, a Tufted
Titmouse family has been visitng a feeder in East Oakville, four Osprey over 
Bayfront Park, a Northern Goshawk in the
Hamilton area, and an American Pipit was seen on the sod fams near Hwy 6 and 
Unity Road.

varieties of birds, make sure you report them
to the hotline!!!

Hello Birders,

While on my walk this evening I had 2 maybe 3 Common Night Hawks working the
airspace above a field at the corner of 18a and County road 12 in
Cannington.
