Weather:
Today’s weather began clear, but somewhat hazy with a gradual buildup of
clouds throughout the morning and into the afternoon. A fast-moving
thunderstorm came through the area in mid-afternoon with skies a mix of
sun and cloud once it passed. Winds were light southeast in the morning,
picking up considerably and switching to the east-northeast ahead of the
thundershowers and remaining fairly strong for the rest of the day.

Raptor Observations:
The pre-rain movement began slowly and dropped off quickly once the heavier
cloud cover developed ahead of the system. Once the rain passed there was
considerable movement, most notably, Kestrels and Harriers.

Non-raptor Observations:
There were a number of passerines active during the morning hours today and
again, as in previous falls, the spruce tree behind the watch area
attracted several species of warblers including several each of Cape May
and Blackpoll as well as a Blackburnian Warbler.

Predictions:
Tomorrow's forecast is for mostly sunny skies and moderate northeast winds.
Given what the flight was today, tomorrow could potentially be the first
large movemnet of the season.
