Around 9am this morning me and my friend Dean Nespolin found a Hudsonian
Godwit busily feeding in the mud and shallow water right beside the
observation platform. Len Jones showed up not long after and the three of
us enjoyed incredible views of this fine bird i took some pics which didnt
turn out quite as clearly as i hoped but good enough for identification
purposes
Good luck and good birding to all

Hello birders,
yesterday i checked out the Bright's Grove sewage lagoons. On the path to
the lagoons i flushed a VIRGINIA RAIL, very unusual for the area. The first
cell on the left has lots of good habitat and there were even yellowlegs
wading right in the middle. There was 1 adult LONG BILLED DOWITCHER and 2
juvenile STILT SANDPIPERS, all in prebasic molt. All the shorebirds are
still there today. Other shorebirds:
Lesser yellowlegs 60
least sandpiper 4
semipalmated plover 6
pectoral sandpiper 2
killdeer 15

good birding!
Tim Snieder, Sarnia

Directions: Going north from Sarnia, BGSL is a little green number sign and
well hidden gate with a yellow sign, off the nature trail also. It is on
the right side of lakeshore rd, just past the waterworks intersection and
the plaza, and past the huron oaks golf club. You need to walk around the
fence to the left and there is a 100m walk down the dirt rd to get to the
lagoons.
