Weather: Clear and sunny skies greeted the day with cool morning temperatures warming nicely into afternoon. The cloudless sky for most of the day made finding the hawks challenging. Winds from the WSW most of the day turning SW occasionaly in the afternoon hindered some hawk movement today. Temps were from 5.7 degrees C to 14.7 C. Winds moderate to light most of the day. Raptor Observations: Turkey Vultures continue to move thru with today's tally at 1176. Less than 200 other raptors were counted today...the majority of those were Sharp Shinned Hawks. Today's highlight was the two Peregrines that moved over the marsh about 10 minutes apart hunting ducks over the point in the eight o'clock hour. Non-raptor Observations: Blackbird species...especially Red Winged were seen in large flocks of over 150 birds at a time today. The total counted here was 4400. Some Blue Jays continue to move thru with a total of 775 counted. American Crows started with 297 tallied today. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Cindy Isenhoff ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Holiday Beach Migration Observatory information may be found at: http://hbmo.org/
