Weather:
Today was mostly overcast with some brighter breaks in an otherwise gray
day during the early afternoon. Winds were light west-southwest becoming
light to moderate south-southeast in the afternoon.

Raptor Observations:
The bulk of the activity today was during about a two-hour span in the
early afternoon when the sun peeked out of the clouds. Sharp-shins
dominated the flight overall and along with a couple of moderately sized
TV groups accounted for almost all the birds recorded.

Non-raptor Observations:
Orange-crowned Warblers continue to be fairly reliable along the Cherry
Island trail. Field Sparrow and Eastern Towhee were also noted today,
adding a bit of variety to an abundant assemblage of sparrows in the area.
Two Praying Mantis were seen as well today.
