There was a small selection of shorebirds at Hillman Marsh late this afternoon,
Thursday, October 19th, including 1 Western Sandpiper, 1 Baird's Sandpiper, 1
Solitary Sandpiper and about a dozen Pectoral Sandpipers. The birds were all
together just east of the main driveway into the Hillman Marsh parking lot.

The entrance to Hillman Marsh is north of Point Pelee. From Leamington go turn
right on Oak Street from Erie Street (at the H.J. Heinz plant) and follow Oak
Street right to the entrance driveway of Hillman Marsh.

There were no shorebirds in the south-east corner of the Marsh, where evidently
a Piping Plover was seen earlier this week.
