Weather:
Today saw mainly overcast conditions during the morning with even a brief
heavy shower at mid morning. There was partial clearing in the early
afternoon with the remainder of the day being a mix of sun and cloud.
Winds were moderate out of the west.

Raptor Observations:
Movement was somewhat slow early but picked up after the mid morning shower
and considerably once there was some breaks in the clouds. There was a
steady and at times heavy migration of TVs throughout the afternoon and
into the early evening. With the west winds, much of the flight was
directly overhead but did not include much in the way of substantial
numbers of Buteos. It seems that the bulk of the Red-tail and Red-shoulder
migration has been delayed as you would typical expect more of these two
species mixed in with the vultures by this date.

Non-raptor Observations:
Notable non-raptors in the area today included Chimney Swift (2), Cape May
Warbler, Lincoln’s Sparrow and Sora. A single Monarch was also seen.
