Today, October 28, I found a beautiful male Harlequin duck off of the end of Grays Road in Stoney Creek. It was mixed in with quite a thick number of Greater Scaup, Common Goldeneye and all three of the scoter species.
Directions; Grays Road ends at Lake Ontario in Stoney Creek and is the first main road that is east of Centennial Hwy (#20). If coming from the Burlington, Oakville area along the QEW. Get off on the Centennial exit and head left towards the lake. At the end of Centennial, turn right and stay on that service road heading east towards Grays Road. It will be the first road that you are coming up on and you will be going under it. Just on the other side of Grays Road will be Drakes Road. Turn left onto Drakes Rd. and get back up onto Grays Rd. Turn right onto Grays Rd. and take it to the end. Park along the last road at the lake, on your right.
