The Yellow-throated Warbler was present again today at South Shell Park in
Oakville. It was seen at 8:45 a.m. in the pines at the south east corner of the
parkette and in the adjacent backyard. When we left at about 9:20 a.m. it had
moved to the pine tree just west of the open area south of the wall. The lores
were entirely white.

Hello Ontbirders

Birding today was a challenge.
However, a few interesting birds were noted.

At Petrie Island, east of the causeway, there were 3 Red-breasted
Mergansers and 4 Common Mergansers. On the beach there were 35 Snow
Buntings and 1 juvenile Black-bellied Plover. On the river, there were
6 Greater Scaup.

In a field with short corn stubble east of Frank Kenny Road, south of
Innes Road, there were 14 Greater Snow Geese, including 2 juveniles.

Along Regimbald Road, between Dunning and Sarsfield roads, there were 9
Gray Partridge, and 2 aberrant geese, possibly with some domestic
origin.

41 Sandhill Cranes, plus 1 Dark Morph & 1 Light Morph Rough-legged
Hawk, were seen east of Milton Road - best views were from the open
field just south of the dog kennel.

Correction to my Friday posting: The Blue Morph Snow Goose should
obviously read "Lesser".

Cheerio
