At 7:45 a.m. on our way into work this morning (Mon. Nov. 6, 2006) we
spotted an immature Ross's Goose (I'm assuming it is the same one that we
spotted two weeks ago). It was feeding in amongst a huge flock of Canada
Geese in a large field belonging to Collins Bay Penitentiary and was
approximately 30 metres from Front Road directly across from the west-end
traffic lights leading into the Dupont plant.
Good birding,
Peg Hauschildt
Kingston, Ontario

Directions:
Take the 611 turn-off on the 401 at the west end of Kingston and head
south. Drive down Hwy 38/Gardiner's Road until you reach a major
intersection with Bath Road (an A&P store is at this intersection). Turn
right onto Bath Road then immediately turn left at the next traffic light
onto Days Road. Follow Days Road to the very end and turn left at the
traffic light. The Dupont plant is along this road (Front Road) on the
right-hand side about 1/2 km from this intersection. The Goose was in the
field across from the first set of traffic lights into the Dupont plant
(next to a hydro substation).
