Summer Tanager
A winter bird showed up at the feeder of Vic Rizzo. It is coming daily and
feeding on minced suet. Vic Rizzo's residence is 1025 McIntyre Street in
North Bay.
Directions: From Highway 11/17 turn onto Algonquin Avenue toward the
downtown and lake. After going down a slope turn right onto Jane Street just
past the High School. Immediately turn left onto Murray Street and at the
second intersection turn right onto McIntyre. Follow to the end. The Rizzo
house is the house at the very end of the road. The garden is on the left
and is below the street lever and bordered by bushes. The best viewing is
from under the porch on the east side of the house. Knock on the door and
let them know who you are.
Great Gray Owl
Vic's son-in-law took a photo of a Great Gray Owl sitting on a bluebird box
east of North Bay on Monday, November 27 at about 4:30 p.m. The bird is on
Palangio Road.
Directions: follow highway 17 east from North Bay about 18 km. Turn right
(south) onto Maple Road. The next right is Palangio Road. The bird is along
this road. Do not leave the road and go on the private property as it is
owned by an explosives company.
