Greetings, The swans were still present in a field just east of that described in my post last evening. Their numbers are much reduced from the thousands seen yesteday, about 350 birds in the field but with many small flocks coming in from the North and some leaving to the South. Looks like the cold front is finally pushing birds to the south. At St. Clair National Wildlife Area Buffleheads and Shovelers were present in the East ponds.
Directions: From Chatham take Grand River Road (Rd. 34) or River View (Rd. 36) West to Jacob Rd. Turn right on Jacob Road and proceed North to Pain Court Road. The birds were in the field Northeast of the intersection. For SCNWA proceed North along Jacob to Heron Road and turn left. Turn left at the 'T' and the entrance will be the next right. cheers, Claude and Nina Radley, Tilbury, Ontario
