Gavin called and asked that I send out that he saw the Razorbill late this morning, (11:00) west of the Golf course. The Razorbill was feeding and diving between the green buoy and the shore.
To reach this viewing spot, enter NOTL by Hwy.55 as usual. Turn left at the golf course where Hwy.55 ends, then there is a lake view just west of the golf course. Unfortunately it disappeared from there later in the aft - but should be somewhere nearby, one presumes. The specific location was - Dugas Road, running due north off Centennial Crescent, which itself runs due north of Corbeil Corner. This latter spot is about 7 miles due east of North Bay along Highway 17. Strangely enough, another owl, a Barred Owl appeared within this observers view in the moonlight at 5:00AM (don't ask why he was up) on Thursday Jan. 4, outside his backyard feeder. Maybe this extraordinary mildness will create a year for owls!
