Today, January 24, at approx. 2:45 pm, I observed a
single short-eared owl for several minutes in
agricultural fields southeast of the intersection of
Chalmers Forrest Road and Schummer Line, southwest of
the Town of Linwood. The bird was flying very low
then remained perched near the top of an old apple or
pear tree for several minutes.

Headed out to Lemoine Point around 4:40 pm today checking for owls. The
first bird I saw was an adult bald eagle flying over the SE corner
(airport side) of Lemoine Point on the lake heading south away from the
area. Got a nice look at this majestic bird flying against a beautiful
sunset. A couple of horned owls were located in the area of the farm land
on the south side of the trail on the airport side of the area. Lots of
calling and some flight activity just before dark.
