About 2:00 PM this afternoon while looking out my bedroom window I saw a bird with a wingspan wider than any gull, soaring and circling high up in the sky almost directly overhead. I ran to my study to grab my binocs and when I took another look I could clearly see the white head and tail. Then I put down the binocs and looked again with naked eye, and saw another one very near the first. After about 2 or 3 minutes of circling they drifted out of sight.

My girlfriend told me later in the evening that she had heard that Bald Eagles are more numerous than usual in Southern Ontario right now because their usual feeding rivers ain the U.S. are frozen.
