Good evening

This morning I birded Humber Bay Park with Margaret Liubavicius and we had a
pretty good day with great spring like weather. Among the 20 Waterfowl species
we came up with an Eared Grebe and a Horned Grebe on the lake close inshore off
the east side of the park and another Horned Grebe off the east end of the east
side of the park. A one time the Eared and Horned Grebes were within a few feet
of each other for comparison.

We also found 8 A. Coots, Ruddy Ducks, both Scaup, all 3 Mergansers and a
White-winged Scoter. Land birds included N. Mockingbird, at least 3 singing
male House Finches and a surprising Purple Finch quietly feeding on Maple seeds.

Noticed at Sunnyside was a sharp increase in Ring-billed Gulls, a sign of the
avalanche of these birds soon to come.
