Hello listeners.

For the keeners I met out searching for the ROSS' GOOSE in the Long Point area yesterday afternoon, we DID finally see the bird thank goodness.

At around 4:45/5:00pm several of the group (not me!) thought they had the goose fly into the marshes at the end of Hastings Drive but invisible behind much vegetation. So after viewing a cool Mink hunting along the marsh/ice edge we packed up and bolted for some better viewing along the Lakeshore Rd. running west towards Clear Creek. And after a quick stop of looking for goose and getting my heel run over TWICE by exiting the car too quickly our good friend Adam Timpf spotted the goose with some Canada's not far off the south side of the road with amazing viewing. The bird proceeded to take off and we spent a good ten minutes watching it circle the skies above, making quick arcing turns, a dive or two and several long flight intervals before we gave up and decided it had some kind of degenerative brain disease because it clearly had no idea what it was doing.

Other birds in the area included probably hundred of Horned Larks and a half dozen LAPLAND LONGSPURS (mostly told by flying by, calling birds), and 4 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS in a massive blackbird flock.

Please see earlier posted directions via the goose but literally search ANYWHERE between hastings drive and Lakeshore drive area (ie. N.W. end of Big Creek Marsh) and late evening does indeed seem to be your best chance as it was not seen all day yesterday till our sighting despite many individuals devoting quite a bit of time to it.

Cheers,
