The Lake Erie Archipelago Islands are home to the most remote and diverse colonial bird colonies on the Great Lakes. Boat tours visiting the colonies of East Sister Island and Middle Island are scheduled for May 26 and 27, June 2 and 3, and June 9 and 10, 2008. The Lake Erie Archipelago Islands are a jewel in an otherwise congested and polluted Great Lakes. They are as undisturbed and wild as any area can be in the province. The dynamic but tranquility of the communal nesting bird colonies are both humbling and inspiring to witness. Cost is $100 per person. Tours are a full day and leave from Leamington Ontario. Space is limited. All boats are completely insured, medical certified and Transport Canada Safety inspected & approved. In amongst the usual flock of Dark Eyed Juncos foraging around my birdfeeder this morning was a very distinctive Oregon Junco. I understand this bird is becoming more common out east. I am located in the Port Union area of Scarborough. As it turned out I was wrong. The birds were Cooper's Hawks. Although I asked opinion of other birders before I sent the email out but unfortunately I did not send over the right pictures to that birder. Today I had a chance to process some more pictures and got suspicious about my identification of the bird. I contacted the experts again and sent over enough pictures to make a positive ID. Sorry about the mistake. Karl Egressy ------=_NextPart_000_0067_01C776B7.864155F0--
