8 hours were put in at the Cranberry Marsh RW on Sep.12, with many thanks to 
counters Geoff Carpentier and Jim Skene, AND recorder Terri Smith--it was not 
easy, as the hawks were coming across on several flight paths, high and low.
Non-raptor highlights included an unexpected SNOW GOOSE flying south, a 
NIGHTHAWK, and several warblers--blackpoll, black-throated blue, yellow-rumped 
and pine among them, and thousands of Green Darner dragonflies in the afternoon.

Weather: medium N winds; rising BP; TUV=4 (400'/min. rise in thermals was a 
great indicator of a good raptor flight); 20C

Raptor Observations: superb conditions brought many to help with the count--a 
big day for
Broad-wingeds--1448; kettles of over 30 were observed between 0900 and 1200 
hours EST.
