Observation start time: 06:30:00
Observation end time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 7.5 hours

Official Counter: Don Wiens

Observers: Claude Radley

Weather:
Hot with Southerly winds. Cloudy with sunny breaks. Did I say hot?

Raptor Observations:
A fairly steady trickle of reluctant migrants all watch falling off in the
afternoon. Five Merlin were a highlight and we watched as one of them took
a Goldfinch west of the tower. An adult Peregrine was perched on the Eagle
tree most of the afternoon and was still present when we called it a day.

Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jays again dominated the skies with 13,000+ passing the tower. The
usual migrants were in evidence though in reduced numbers as expected given
the weather. A pair of Black-bellied Plovers were seen early in the watch.

Predictions:
Westerly winds with the chance of a shower in the morning. A little cooler
than today.
