The forty or so people that were gathered on this very warm October day didnt seem to mind so much that there were not too many hawks to look at but instead were enjoying the sunny day, good food and pleasant conversation. Thanks to everyone for a great day and particularly to Pete Przybylski for his generous contribution as usual. Weather: Today was another hot hazy day as this southerly flow of air seen the last few days continued. Winds were non-existent for much of the morning becoming light to moderate south-southeast by late morning. Raptor Observations: The flight was very much similar as yesterday although there was a decent but short-lived movement of vultures during the middle of the day well to the north of the count area. Altogether though the flight was very light as might be expected given the summer-like conditions.
