Hi Everyone
Yesterday afternoon I observed a male Black-backed Woodpecker at Britannia Conservation area/Mud Lake along the ridge. The bird flew in from the north side of the river calling and landed in a large dead tree. Sat for a few seconds and continued south towards the woods. good birding, Bruce

Directions:  Britannia Conservation Area : Take Pinecrest Road north off
of the Queensway (Hwy 417). Continue north on Pinecrest, then turn right
(east) onto Richmond Road. After Richmond crosses Carling Avenue, turn left
(north) onto Poulin Avenue. Poulin becomes Howe Street and bends to the left. at
the intersection with Britannia Road, turning right. Continue down Britannia
to the "T" junction at Cassels Street. Turn right onto Cassels and park
along the roadside.
