I am missing some results but here are some highlights from the 45th Halton-Peel CBC sponsored by the South Peel Naturalists' Club. Complete results with be posted on the Audubon Christmas Bird Count website shortly.

Don Perks and John Lamey had a NORTHERN GANNET flyby less than 100 m. at the mouth of the Credit River in Port Credit. They also had 2 Harlequin Ducks at the same general location. A very late RING-BILLED DUCK was at Cranberry Cove aka Rhododendron Gardens 3rd light west of Mississauga Road on Lakeshore Blvd.

Jim Watt and John Bennett found a CACKLING GOOSE on the lake at the base of Arkendo Drive in Oakville. The mallard size Goose flew within 100 meters after being flushed along with Canada Geese by what sounded like gun-fire to the east of Joshua Creek. Arkendo is the first street off Lakeshore west of Winston Churchill in eastern Oakville.

Kirsten Burling, Lori Nero, Bill Siverns and myself saw a PINE WARBLER at a suet feeder on the lake behind a brown brick house on Birch Hill Lane. Birch Hill is 1st road going south from Lakeshore Rd. east of Appleby College (east of the 4th Line). The entrance to the waterfront promenade is marked by a Town of Oakville parks sign where Birch Hill Lane turns right to follow parallel to the Lake.

We also found a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER on the east side of the 3rd Line Sewage Treatment Plant on Lakeshore Road. It was in brambles along side a small creek beside open concrete treatment ponds. We parked at the end of Hixon St (north of the Lakeshore off Woodhaven Park).
