Hi Folks,

I had a window seat today on the GO trains Union Station to Richmond Hill Line.
The first "spring" bird I saw in 2007 was a King Fisher on the Don just south
of Pottery Road on Bayview Ave. Today some 9 months later, I saw, to my
surprise, a King Fisher in the exact same spot. Although not uncommon for these
birds to winter in "southern Ontario" so I read, I would think the Don is a
little north than south. Each year I see oddities. Last winter it was well into
November and I was still seeing several Heron's on the Don despite frost and
ice forming. I guess this years early snow knocked some sense back into the
Herons, as they appeared to make an early exit, I guess the King Fisher is a
hardy little guy.

Regards,

Glenn
