Thanks to Kayo Roy and Jim Pawlicki for getting the word out about this bird. I originally spotted it from the control gates on the Ontario side of the river, all the way across the river on the ice in front of Goat Island, a half-mile or so away. (Anyone who is in the market for a good scope, I can make a strong recommendation!) We raced over to Goat Island, New York where Betsy and I got close views and managed a few quick digiscoped photos before it took flight. It was not seen the rest of the day.
