An evening trip to Colonel Sam Park rewarded us with a Northern Shrike
around the location of the former viewing stand on the east side of the
marina. At dusk the Snowy Owl appeared on the peninsula on the south
side of the marina and then flew to the mast at the southeast end of the
peninsula and remained there until dark.
Earlier in the day we found a Red-bellied Woodpecker at Lambton Woods Park.

Directions.
Col. Sam Smith Park is south of the intersection of Kipling and
Lakeshore Roads behind the Lakeshore campus of Humber College in
Etobicoke. The peninsula and harbour are a short walk south of the
parking lot.
Lambton Woods Park is located off Edenbridge Drive between Scarlett Road
and Royal York Road. Park in the parking lot and walk about 1 kilometer
south to the top of a small hill over looking Humber River (near a bird
feeder). The wooden fence is used as a seed drop by locals. The
Red-bellied Woodpecker was seen in locations around this spot.
