For those still attempting to see the Mottled Duck at Hillman Marsh it may
be useful (if galling?) to know that it was seen this morning on the S side
of the shorebird/waterfowl cell in the company of a drake Mallard. The
birds flew in around 640am and spent their time on the water or taking short
flights in the vicinity of the cracked corn piles on the S dike. The bird
was still present when this observer left at 7am.

There were also 3 Cackling (Richardson's form?) Geese present on the
mudflats in the centre of the shorebird cell at the same time. The Wilson's
Phalarope female continues at the cell as well.

Good birding.
