Had a great day at the Pinery on Friday June 6. Very hot but lots of birds out
in the early morning. Highlight was the Hooded Warbler singing his head off for
us on Riverside Trail. Found him in dense brush about 15 feet off the trail and
about 10 feet up, sitting on a branch. Follow the trail to the right and go
past the park bench and around the curve. This would be the top end of the
trail as oppposed to the bottom end near the river. Also heard the Pileateds
calling all morning. Pinery Prov. Park is on Highway 23 south of Grand Bend .
Good birding, Jean Kelly
