The American White Pelican was again at the Moodie Drive Quarry Ponds on the
evening of Aug. 20, 2008. It spent most of the time resting in its usual spot
near the small island, but did make a flight around the pond and land opposite
the gate where it scooped up a meal, then returned to its island post. Also
present were 2 male Redheads, two imm. Black-crowned Night-Heron and at least
one hawking Common Nighthawk.
