This Tuesday, Dec.2, the female Avocet was again seen, after a respite of
several days. It was in the lagoon near the pedestrian bridge that crosses the
foot of Duffin's Creek in Ajax. I assume that freeze-ups will move it up and
down the river.

South down Westney Rd. from the 401, through Bayly St., continuing to Lake
Driveway, turning right---continue on this winding road until you come to the
Rotary Park sign--turn right--drive west to the parking lot. Then walk down to
the lakefront, turn right, go a short distance to the long pedestrian
bridge--keep your eyes peeled on both sides of the bridge.

Doug Lockrey, Whitby--on behalf of Jim Fairchild and John Stirrat.
