Birders farther south in Ontario may be interested that there are good numbers
of Kumlien's Iceland Gulls and Glaucous Gulls in the Lake Nipissing Region.
Both species are being seen around North Bay and today I observed 12 Kumlien's
Iceland and 8 juvenile Glaucous Gulls at the Sundridge dump and Lake
Bernard.(Sundridge Governent dock) All age classes of Kumlien's 1adult and 11
juveniles. These gulls will stay until we get a deep freeze and the bigger
lakes freeze over.

Other birds of interest in the Sundridge area are lots of Pine Siskins, Common
Redpolls and White-winged Crossbills.

Directions: Sundridge is 2.5 hours north of Toronto and 45 min.south of North
Bay along Highway 11. The dump is located on Forest Lake Rd.Exit onto Main St
head NE Main turns into Forest Lake rd.The dump is located 3.5 Klm on the left.
The Government Dock is locted at the corner of Main and James Street.

Good birding,

Stephen O'Donnell
