Hello Ottawa area winter listers,
There was a Pied-billed Grebe
in the Dunrobin area today. To find the spot, drive west on Dunrobin
Road from March Road. Just before Dunrobin on the south side of the
road (left) is a flooded stream. The grebe was there (across from house
number 2570).
Also of general interest today were 1 Northern Pintail, 4 Glaucous Gulls, 3
Iceland
Gulls and 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls with thousands of predominantly
Herring Gulls at the Moodie Road gravel pits. This site is south of
Ottawa just past the intersection of Trail Road and Moodie Road on the
east side of the highway.
There were 4 Snow Geese, 2 Black Scoters, 1 White-winged Scoter, 1
Common Loon and 1 Bald Eagle at Andrew Hayden Park yesterday. This is
on the north side of Carling Avenue in western Ottawa.
Good birding,
Jeff
