Wow Alex. Your email on Ontbirds re the harassment of Owls sounds exactly like the one I posted when I said I would no longer post Owls found on the Leslie Street Spit in Toronto. Did you copy mine ? :>))
GOOD for you and your stand against those insensitive yahoos. You can expect many emails from some of them accusing you of being photographerphobic and against all with a camera. I have gone through it despite the fact that I many times stated that it is NOT all photographers and that they do not represent the whole group. Here on The Spit they also roam in groups and I am asked many times " see any Owls". I also posted about groups standing for over an hour with flashes lighting up the bird and area and talking loudly for all to hear. Some of the trees on The Spit have also had their branches trimmed so that the tree shape is now grotesque and the cover for the small Owls all but destroyed. The Toronto Region Conservation Authority does nothing. My fear now is that the owners of the Owl Woods could restrict access ( with understandable cause ). I know that Ontbirds is not the forum to post my reply to you and I accept the chastisement from Mark before he even emails me.
