Hi,
While checking for roosting sparrows at the northwest corner of Corbett
Creek Marsh at first light this morning, I heard a call that sounded distinctly
like the buzzy call note of an Indigo Bunting. This was as part of the Oshawa
CBC. There were both Song and Swamp Sparrows roosting in the cattails on the
south side of the causeway east of Thickson's Woods between the creek and the
Corbett Creek Sewage Treatment Plant. Light was poor as the sun was not yet
up, so I was not able to locate the bird in question visually.
Other birds in the woods this morning included Carolina and winter wren,
white-winged crossbills, golden-crowned kinglets, brown creeper, and large
numbers of pine siskins and common redpolls, and a white-throated sparrow.
