The snow has brought out the winter raptors in the Haldiman areas.

Four Bald Eagles (two adults and two 1st year) are around the power plant at
Nanticoke on Lakeshore Rd just east of the plant. I took some video with the
Canon 5D Mark II for those who are interested (Image and
Video<http://ontfin.com/Word/bald-eagles-at-nanticoke/>
).

Rough-legged Hawk have increased in numbers, with a few dark morph about.
One dark morph seems to prefer the north west corner of the power plant
property and is easy to find.A Red-bellied Woodpecker was in the same
location. American Kestrel and Red-tailed Hawk are also very common.

Good numbers of Wild Turkey can be found and there is a flock of 20 often
seen in the open field across from the power plant.

Mockingbirds can be found in various spots, the town of Nanticoke, 3rd
Concession and Sandusk, 6th Cincession and Hyway55.

There has been a Northern Shrike at 6th Concession just west of Highway 55
for a couple of weeks.

Good numbers of Northern Harrier throughout.

I have not seen the Short-eared Owls at their traditional roost near
Fisherville, probably just as well as they have been subject to disturbance
their. They are present a few kms. away which may be their new roost.

There was a flock of Snow Buntings on 3rd Concession between Cheepside and
Sandusk Rd.
