At around 1 PM today my father and I observed a Snowy Owl on the Leslie Street Spit. It was hunched on the ice in the center of Cell 3. Based on the degree of barring on the front, the bib size and the unbarred back of head, I am guessing either first year male or adult female.
Other birds of note: 3 Great Horned Owls, 1 Northern Shrike and 1 Northern Flicker. To reach the Spit, drive to the south end of Leslie Street in Toronto. To reach Cell 3, follow the left path (endikement) to the last pond on your right or follow the right path to the lift bridge.
