27th Ingersoll CBC

The count was held on January 2 after being canceled on December 28 due to high winds.

We ended up with 65 species. 65 species is the 3rd highest total and well above the long term average of 58.4 birds and the most recent 10 year average of 59.9 birds. The highest count was 69 species in 1992 and the second highest count was 67 species in 2004.

The addition of Lesser Scaup this year brings our all time species total to 112 species. There are also 2 species seen during count week but not ever on count day (American Wigeon, Northern Bobwhite).
