Yesterday and today I spotted a snowy owl, a female judging from the degree of
barring, perched and exposed at the top of a bare deciduous tree along the west
side of the road, overlooking an agricultural field; this spot is 2 km south of
Hwy 89 on Hwy 25.
First observed at approximately 9:30am yesterday, observed again perched in the
same spot at approximately 3:45pm yesterday, observed again in the same area
but a different tree this morning at approximately 9:30.
This area is approximately 7-10 km from the Luther Marsh.
To get to this spot from the Orangeville area, take Hwy 10 north out of
Orangeville for 19 km to the exit for Hwy 89 to Shelburne. Take Hwy 89 for
approx. 18 km and turn go south/left towards Grand Valley on Hwy 25, drive for
2 km and look around.
