Hi everyone, We went to Chappell house on Feb. 13 and were able to have great looks at 3 Hoary Redpolls. We didn't get there until mid afternoon and they weren't coming to the feeder at that time. They were feeding in the birches just north of Chappell house and adjacent to the parking lot. There are lots of Common Redpolls and Pine Siskins as well as the regulars coming to the feeder at the back of the house. There is a table feeder at the north east corner of the house close to where the Hoary Redpolls were seen. A bonus was a Eastern Screech Owl (gray phase) roosting on one of the porch lights under the eaves. Good luck, Garth Directions: From Hwy 403 take the Mavis Road Exit. Go south on Mavis Road to Burnhamthorpe Road West and turn right. Take Burnhamthorpe Road to the traffic lights at intersection with The Credit Woodlands (south of Burnhamthorpe) and Riverwood Park Lane (north of Burnhamthorpe). Turn north onto Riverwood Park Lane.
Chappell House: Follow Riverwood Park Lane until the large Arts and Crafts style house is visible. Park in the visitor lot on your right. The feeders where the Hoary Redpolls have been observed are behind the house.
