Birders,

I just received a call from Ian Richards that he found a Black Vulture just north of Rondeau Provincial Park this morning (Saturday March 14). It was feeding on a Virginia Opossum carcass in the ditch along Rose Beach Line, which runs along the lakeshore. He didn't have a camera at hand but any point and shoot camera would do to document this bird. It is only 6 feet off the edge of the road (west side).

To get there go approximately 1.9 km NNE from the intersection of Kent Bridge Road (15) and Rose Beach Line (which is only a short distance north of the park gate). It is opposite 911 marker# 12024. He observed the bird at 11:00 a.m. and it was still there when he left. He mentioned that there was another carcass nearby so perhaps it will stick around for at least a little while.

Cheers,
