Hello all, I had the Western Grebe this morning (approx. 0915 hrs) at the SE part of Ashbridges Park. It was quite far out, so a scope is recommended. Make sure to scan each bird closely, as when this bird rests with its head tucked in, it can appear like a sleeping Long-tailed Duck, when viewed at a great distance.
At Col. Sam Smith in Etobicoke, neither the Greater White-fronted Goose nor King Eider showed. There were about 25 Red-necked Grebes and 4 Horned Grebes. Directions: Ashbridge's Bay Park is found sourh of Lakeshore Blvd, just east of the Don Valley Parkway, at the foot of Coxwell. Park in the marina parking lot and walk south-east. Good birding, Josh Vandermeulen _________________________________________________________________ Reinvent how you stay in touch with the new Windows Live Messenger. http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9650731_______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
