The 2008 Ontario Bird Records Committee (OBRC) held its annual meeting at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) on Saturday, 4 April 2009.

New Ontario Species: Barnacle Goose and Mottled Duck were added to the Ontario Checklist bringing the provincial total to 482 species. Details of these two new species and other reports will be published in the 2008 OBRC Report in the August issue of Ontario Birds. Committee Changes: Two members of the 2008 Committee, Mark Peck and Jean Iron (Chair), completed their three-year terms. Two new voting members, Ross James and Glenn Coady, were elected to replace them in 2009. Glenn Coady also accepted to serve as the new OBRC Chair for the 2009 reporting year. Ian Richards has retired as OBRC Secretary and was thanked for serving two years. The Committee is pleased to report that Mark Cranford was elected the new OBRC Secretary for the 2009 reporting year.
