Mark Breaks and I found a Worm-eating Warbler this afternoon in the woods at Point Traverse. The birds was actively feeding on the abundant midges and didn't sing. It didn't seem concerned with us and often approached us to within 8 feet, it stayed about 10 feet up in the canopy most of the time. Some photos were obtained. The bird was at the western end of the trail system in the woods, park on the gravel road and follow the trails. Several Scarlet Tanagers and Baltimore Orioles are also present in the woods.
Ticks are plentiful in the woods so be advised and take precautions.
