Mark Breaks, my assistant, just found four Harlequin Ducks on the flat calm
lake out from the Observatory. They stayed just long enough for me to go
out and see them, after watching them for about five minutes they flew out
towards the open lake/Main Duck island. There were three males and one female.

Directions to PEPTBO -
Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory is in the extreme south-east corner of
Prince Edward county. From the 401 head to Picton then follow County Road 8
(opposite theHarbour Inn), heading South East out of Picton for about 3km
and then turn right onto County Road 17, follow this until you can turn left
on to County Road 16 (signed to the Black River Cheese Factory), this road
is County Road 13, turn right and follow this road to the gravel road at the
end (approx 25km). The Observatory is the first building on the right about
2km along the gravel part of the road and has a large blue CWS sign on the
lawn.
