Heard and saw a male hooded warbler singing intermittently this morning at
about 9:00 am. It was still there when I left at 9:30am.

>From the parking lot, walk over the bridge and turn LEFT. Walk for about 100
>yards along the main path and a second, smaller path will veer to the right.
>Walk along this smaller path until it meets a very small rivulet/stream. At
>this path/rivulet junction, the hooded warbler was found with wilson's and
>canada warblers in the scrub/undergrowth located about 2/3rds of the way up
>the steep hill to your right. FYI, if you cross the rivulet and keep walking
>right, you'll notice dense underbrush all along the hill on the opposite side
>of the rivulet.

Earlier this morning, also found a number of other birds if you turn RIGHT
after crossing the bridge and follow either the main path or the smaller path
that hugs the creek. A number of warblers were found scattered along the both
paths and included black & white, yellow, blackburnian, chestnut-sided,
blackpoll, magnolia, yellow-rumped, tennessee, blackthroated blue,
blackthroated green, bay-breasted, common yellowthroat, northern waterthrush
and redstart. Other birds included northern orioles, scarlet tanager,
swainson's thrush, indigo bunting, several vireos, eastern wood pee-wee, an
empidonax (presumably a least) and great-crested flycatcher.

Posting late, but on Saturday morning, also a a great close-up look at a
Lincoln's sparrow and heard, but did not see asit remained hidden, a singing
mourning warbler. Yesterday found an orange-crowned warbler among the usual
suspects. Oer the past three days, I have found the most activity between 7:30
am and about 9:00am and I have had the most luck by occasionally stopping and
venturing off the paths.
