Friends of Point Pelee provide guided birding hikes throughout the Festival
of Birds at Point Pelee National Park of Canada. Proceeds from hikes support
the Friends of Point Pelee and Point Pelee National Park. This submitted
report is a service of the FoPP Hike Leaders.

Light winds out of the south did not bring in many new migrants into the
Park today, but still a good number of warblers and other migrants
distributed through the Park.



At the tip there were 2 RUDDY TURNSTONE and a pair of WARBLING VIREO.



BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO was reported from the south end of the Woodland Trail.



The Tilden Trail produced several male SCARLET TANAGER, a singing MOURNING
WARBLER at the intersection with Shuster Trail, TENNESSEE, NASHVILLE,
NORTHERN PARULA, CHESNUT-SIDED, YELLOW, MAGNOLIA, BLACK-THROATED BLUE,
YELLOW-RUMPED, BLACK-THROATED GREEN, BAY-BREASTED, AMERICAN REDSTART, COMMON
YELLOWTHROAT and 3 male CANADA WARBLERS.



A CONNECTICUT WARBLER was reported singing east of the Visitor’s Centre in
the weeping bed area.



Just in is a sighting of the BLACK SWIFT first sighted on May 17th. The
Swift was again observed flying over the parking lot of the Visitor’s Centre
flying north.
