Bird Lovers:

They tell me their friends would "kill them" if they didn't tell them
about the little visitor we hope is waiting for us on the patio tomorrow
morning.

It is not often those of us who love birds get the opportunity to post a
bird that is really a thrill to see in our native Ontario. I've had my share.
I'm a Carolinian Canada convert and my little slice of Canadian paradise on
lake Erie is a joy to occupy. The little , black-throated sparrow visiting now
is a really exceptional visitor. I'm told this is only the second record of
this species in Ontario.

More accustomed to the southwestern U.S. , he/she is the most well behaved,
photogenic and laid back of guests. If you come to see him lets try to emulate
his behaviour. He seems quite at home on my patio or hiding in the vine on the
stairs.

Tonights' half moon and gleem on th lake. . .hopefully he will sleep well
and hop about tomorrow to meet the public. Anyone coming to see him please stay
behind the delineated areas and allow the bird some space. Please park on the
side of the road and walk in the drive marked "private" . Do not pick any
vegetation seed or flowers while here.
Port Burwell is located at the southern terminus of hiway 19 at lake
Erie. Take the Ingersol Exit south at hiway 401 . Monarch Landing is located
one mile east of Port Burwell on th lakeshore Road.(Wellington Rd , in Port
Burwell turns into Lakeshore Rd. County Rd. 142).

I am hoping the sparrow will be here tomorrow morning and will post again
. Hopefully before 8:30 a.m.
