Strong NE wind and a falling BP were not conducive to a significant hawk migration. But, in spite of the wind blowing right at us the 7-8 observers appreciated good thermals bring ing in 116 raptors. APOLOGIES TO GLORIA-- she wants a Bald Eagle; well, 10 minutes after she left
a young BE came majestically through.
We are presently experiencing good Red-tailed Hawk migration.
At 1110EDT a PILEATED WOODPECKER was heard, then seen flying low over the wetland,
very close to us.
